Prayer + Meditation

No matter what your religion or belief system is, taking a few minutes to still the mind helps to let go of the energy of the night before and set intention for the day ahead. It is a known fact that meditation reduces stress and anxiety. Even 5 minutes is enough to get your day started off on the right path. I recommend an app that has been very useful to me in my meditation, it’s called Insight Timer.  There are many options for guided meditations from beginner to advanced and you can choose by the amount of time you have available.

Write it Down

Journaling is a good way to clear the mind and prepare a clean slate for the day ahead. I write down my dreams from the night before. I try to write out any negative thoughts. I write about what I hope to accomplish in the day ahead. I have been journaling for most of my life and find it a very important part of each day. I shoot for 3 pages but sometimes 1 page is all that I have time for. You can use these pages to to write 3 things that you are grateful for and also to write out tasks for the day. They are you empty pages to fill.
